About Sea Fever Gear

Founded 1994

   The original family boat
Sea Fever

One day two sisters came upon an old sail from the beloved family boat, a Mercer 44 named Sea Fever. What to do with the old sail they pondered.. First they joked about crafting it into cool gear - and then they did. That's how the whole thing got started. Here's a picture of our name sake - three port holes on this side, but only two on the other - leave it to our Dad to do that. (I sure wish we had this old spinnaker!)
Memories of racing, cruising, adventurous foul weather and late night passages, came rushing back with the strength of a nor-easter. We didn't have the heart to discard a sea rag filled with such rich memories.

What better way to hold on to fabulous memories, as a gift to yourself or your crew, one which transforms precious sails into functional gear.

Our philosophy is to promote good things:

* recycling * sailing activities * Cousteau Society  * having fun!
If you have sails to recycle , call or email us.

A note to our wonderful customers

We have laughed, hugged, cried, enjoyed nauti-nitie chuckles, and so many of your special Sea Fever moments that we have lost count. But there are always a couple that stand out.

Thanks for the poem
Dick & Els!
A delightful family in Newport shared the story of the dedication of the Sea Fever poem to the son they lost in a boating accident.  Another couple from Mass. gave us a break from our busy day in Annapolis and recited the entire John Masefield Sea Fever poem. We can’t even begin to tell you the memories that stirred up.

When we started this sister-business, named after our family boat, we expected to enjoy our work together. But what caught us by surprise is the love and support we have gotten from all of you. You make the boat shows so much fun and we certainly log in more hugs than any other booth - I didn’t see anyone hugging the ice man in Annapolis! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support. We hope to see you at the next boat show!

Smooth sailing,

Pixie
